Gas discharge lamp ДРШ 500М
Mercury-quartz lamps, type ДРШ 500М
They are used in optical devices to obtain a narrow beam of high intensity light. They emit energy in both the visible and ultraviolet parts of the spectrum, and therefore can be used as sources of ultraviolet energy
They are made in the form of spherical cylinders made of quartz glass. The main electrodes are sealed into the ends of the cylinders. An auxiliary electrode is located on the side to facilitate the occurrence of an arc discharge between the main electrodes
The cylinders are filled with a metered amount of mercury, the vapor of which in the working state of the lamp reaches a pressure of 30-50 atm. Under these conditions, the arc discharge in mercury vapor is concentrated between the ends of the electrodes. The brightness of the arc discharge of DRSh lamps reaches values exceeding the brightness of incandescent lamps
They are connected to an alternating current with a voltage of 127 or 220 V through a ballast choke. To ignite the lamp, the side electrode of the cylinder is briefly connected to the output contact of the high-frequency inductor. The steady state of the lamp occurs 10-15 minutes after the moment of switching on
The designation of lamps consists of the letters DRSH (arc mercury ball) and numbers that determine the power in watts
