Description

Thyristors T123 – tablet thyristors of general purpose, regulate and convert direct and alternating current up to 410A with a frequency of up to 500Hz in circuits with a voltage of 400V – 1800V
The polarity of the thyristor is determined by the icon on the case
Thyristors are assembled with coolers using a threaded connection
To minimize electrical losses and maximize heat dissipation, the required torque, the so-called clamping force, should be ensured during assembly
Correspondence of the achieved clamping force to the required one is determined by the deflection of the traverse
For better heat dissipation of the thyristor, heat-conducting paste KPT-8 is used during assembly, which is not a prerequisite for installation
Thyristors of the T123 series have the following standard ratings: T123-200, T123-250, T123-320
Thyristors can be manufactured for use in temperate, cold and tropical climates
They are produced in a sintered body for two-sided cooling

Recommendations for the installation of power thyristors

Reliability of heat transfer and electrical contact between the mating surfaces of the thyristor and the cooler in the entire temperature range is ensured by the corresponding torque – clamping force
Before assembly, you should conduct a visual inspection of the contact surfaces for mechanical damage and wipe with a coarse calico moistened with alcohol : toluene, gasoline, acetone
After inspection, we fix the down conductors (petals), install the pin to fix the alignment of the structure
To improve the heat transfer parameters, it is recommended to lubricate the mating surfaces with a thin layer of KPT-8 heat-conducting paste, which is not a prerequisite for installation, before assembly
We install the thyristor, the second part of the cooler, fiberglass insulator and thrust washer
We string the traverse and evenly tighten the nuts
It is necessary to monitor the absence of distortions and the uniformity of the contacting contact surfaces
With a sufficiently clamped but movable state of the parts of the structure, we recommend placing the cooler on a flat surface and checking the tolerance of parallelism of the common adjacent plane of the surfaces
Clamp each nut in turn (about a quarter of a turn) until it stops
Correspondence of the achieved clamping force to the required one is determined by the deflection of the traverse
At the end of the installation, the fasteners (nuts and washers) must be additionally protected against corrosion

: Tips and tricks for operating power thyristors

The possibility of prolonged operation of power thyristors at their maximum permissible load in all parameters should be excluded
In this case, the safety factor is determined by the required degree of device reliability
Replacement of a failed power thyristor is carried out by a thyristor, the parameters of which correspond to the parameters of the replaced one
The process of operation in an environment with an elevated level of temperature conditions must be accompanied by forced cooling
To ensure normal heat dissipation, it is recommended to periodically clean the power thyristors and coolers from dust and dirt
To equalize the currents between parallel-connected power thyristors, inductive current dividers (often a toroidal twisted magnetic circuit) should be used
The most popular connection methods are: a closed circuit, a circuit with a common turn or with a master thyristor
The efficiency of the current dividers is determined by the cross section of the magnetic circuit
Prevention of voltage imbalance during series connection of power thyristors is carried out by using shunt resistors connected in parallel to each thyristor
Voltage equalization in transient modes is ensured by parallel connection of capacitors to each thyristor
It is strictly forbidden to touch energized power thyristors
