Legend
Thyratron TG1 (2,3) B (P) – 2/8 V , where
TG – hot cathode thyratron
1, 2, 3 – development number
Cylinder design
( B – subminiature glass design with a cylinder diameter from 8 mm to 10 mm (TG1B-V
( P – glass cylinder with a diameter of 19 mm or 22.5 mm with a finger base (TG1P
2/8 – an index indicating belonging to a particular category of high-reliability lamps (TG1-0.02 / 0.5, TG1-0.1 / 0.3, TG1-0.1 / 1.3, TG1- 0.5 / 12, TG1-1 / 0.8, TG1-2 / 8, TG1-2.5 / 4, TG1-2.5 / 10, TG1-3.2 / 1.3, TG2-0, 5/12, TG3-0.1 / 1.3
B – thyratrons with increased mechanical strength and reliability
Thyratrons TG are used in electric drives, relaxation circuits, in relay, inverter, control, protection and welding devices
Technical characteristics of TG thyratrons
A glow-cathode thyratron is a three-electrode rectifier with an anode, a cathode and a grid (control electrode) for controlling the ignition
The operating frequency of two-grid thyratrons is no more than 500 Hz
Hot cathode thyratron cylinders are filled with inert gases
Hot cathode thyratrons have characteristics that depend little on the ambient temperature, which is their main advantage over mercury thyratrons
In gas-filled TG thyratrons, barium released in oxide cathodes is not amalgamated
Hot cathode thyratrons are operated in any position
Design
– the electrodes are located one above the other vertically in different horizontal planes
– the electrodes are located along the section in one horizontal plane
:Methods for controlling the thyratron anode current
– amplitude – an alternating voltage is supplied to the thyratron grid, which coincides in phase with the anode voltage
– phase – allows you to change the phase shift between alternating grid and alternating anode voltages, which changes the ignition moment during a positive half-cycle, and also changes the average value of the rectified current
– pulse – a short-term voltage pulse is applied to the thyratron grid, sufficient for ignition
TG thyratrons execution options depending on the type of acceptance
technical control department – quality control department
– especially resistant – OS
– customer acceptance – PZ
– military acceptance – VP
